How to get your home Spring Sale Ready!

Spring is officially around the corner which generally means a busy time for real estate, with sellers getting their property ready for the market and buyers actively looking. The weather is generally warmer, people aren’t consumed with Christmas just yet and the stress of the end of financial year is well and truly over. So what does this mean for you and your property? 1. Spring clean! Properties already present well this time of year; the sun is out, flowers are in full bloom, the grass is fresh and green and all of this makes for great marketing photos. In saying this, you will need to make sure that overgrown gardens are kept to a minimum. Weeds grow quickly during this season so try and keep on top of it! Seeing a messy garden, along with clutter inside are big turn offs for potential buyers.

2. Think about the type of atmosphere your home is creating upon entry. First impressions really do count and if you haven’t captured someone’s attention, you might have lost it all together. Your home must be sparkling from top to bottom, so a declutter and a good scrub and sweep won’t go astray. This includes all the small details like dusting and cleaning the walls and windows.

3. Make those repairs. You know the ones you have been meaning to get to for months? Well now is the time. This can range from changing broken door handles, replacing a gutter to fixing a tear in the fly screen. First impressions make lasting impressions!

4. Re-visit your lighting. Making sure your home is filled with warm, natural light, this can make the biggest difference to the marketing photography and the presentation of your property during home opens. We encourage you to open the blinds, let as much natural light in as possible and keep fresh air flowing by opening some windows. This will create a fresh and inviting aura to the potential buyers coming through your home.
