Decorate Your Home This Winter: Styling Tips!

Before you know it we are already over half way through the year and have well and truly welcomed winter in Perth! To make the next couple of colder months a little more cosy, we have a few styling and decorative tips you can do to your home or investment property to adjust to the season change and will make you love those rainy nights you spend at home.

Long Thick Hanging Curtains

If you haven’t got hanging curtains in your home already, this winter may be the perfect excuse to add some in. Not only do long thick hanging curtains lock in warmth when insulated, they add a designer touch to the room and can really change and compliment the style of your home. You have the option to choose a colour that either pops or a colour that blends in. Be sure to hang the curtains above the window frame to give the illusion of a bigger window and to make the curtains long enough to be only 1cm from the floor.

Freshen up time-worn linen and towels

Winter is the perfect time to give some time and attention to your linen cupboard. Soft fluffy towels, warm flannelette or linen sheets make all the difference when it’s cold! It’s time to replace the old with the new.

Simple switches

Cushion up the couch and add some more throws to welcome warmth and comfort to your bedroom and living areas in the cooler months. It is also the perfect time of year to light those dusty candles you have sitting on your living room cabinet that will add a cosy aura to your home.

Bake some winter desserts

When it’s cold outside, the entertainment is brought inside. There is nothing better than walking into someone’s home and smelling a freshly backed apple pie or sticky date pudding! They are the perfect accessory to a winter’s night in, if you ask us.

Welcoming inner glow

It is no surprise that the daylight hours are shorter in Perth’s winter, so having good lighting in your home is super important. Table or floor lamps will go a long way in setting the tone for your home in winter. We recommend opting for warm globes over cooler colour options, which will add a comfortable and cosy ambiance to your home.

There you have it, a few of our favorite styling tips that will make all the difference that don’t require much effort and won’t break the bank! Stay tuned for our upcoming property tips and tricks!
